Beautifully illustrated children’s story book by Priyjah Paramasivam.

The Brief : To take a famous speech and create a piece of design that reflected that person.

Sollution : I took the “who taught you” speech by Malcolm X and wrote and illustrated a children’s story book that talks about equality through owls. After all how old do you have to be, to be taught about equality.

Retroflex EP and Visuals.
Packaging and visuals by third year Matt Clixby and soundtrack by his brother Ollie.

‘The influence was a fused development between consciously gathered and identifiable childhood influences, to archives if memory that reside in both sunconscious and - to a physical end - home video… In the initial stages of Retroflex, the off-camera moments that were not documented but remembered often seem to be those of re-watching the tapes as a child… Through pulping the original artefacts, all structural context is lost. With recognisable VHS aesthetic, the fear of the unknown is once again restored within the footage. The soundtrack a beckoning spiral of collaged samples with a sense of the impending and the hypnotic.’

Laura Hopewell Wins June’s ampersand race! Taking top position as our latest logo design.

Fred & Eric have been keeping Laura’s hand-cut ampersand design under their top hats for a few weeks. When this dropped through our letter box we knew it was going to be the front-runner for June’s banner design, so we’re pleased to finally unveil it.

Now the only question is, whose desk will it get to go on?

Rosie Mckie’s amazing FEDRIGONI project:

BRIEF - Produce a fully integrated campaign to launch and promote Fedrigoni’s ‘imaginative colours’ paper selection tool in the UK. Strategy - Demonstrate the versatility of the papers by making jewellery out of them, and show them in a fashion ‘look book’ with intersecting paper samples. The look book would be sent out in an interactive invitation to a Fedrigoni ‘paper fashion show’. The guest would wear the paper strip they tore to open the invite to the event, which acts as their ticket. These instructions are written on the inside of the invite along with the time, date and place of event. The tactile qualities of their paper are highlighted by making it an interactive experience.
